Invitamos a todos los adolescentes a acumular 90 minutos de servicio comunitario cada semana en la Biblioteca Eastside. Los adolescentes ayudarán a encontrar libros, organizar los materiales de la biblioteca, preparar actividades de arte, manualidades y otras tareas.
No se requiere la registración.
Exención de responsabilidad:
Los participantes de este evento posiblemente serán fotografiados por el personal de la Biblioteca. Estas fotos posiblemente serán usadas en publicaciones promocionales o educacionales. En las que se incluyen publicaciones impresas, redes sociales y presentaciones. Déjale saber al personal de la Biblioteca si no das consentimiento para que te tomen fotos. El personal proporcionará autorizaciones fotográficas individuales.

El Consejo Asesor de Adolescentes (T.A.B., por sus siglas en inglés) combina el servicio comunitario y el desarrollo juvenil, subrayando el valor de la participación de los adolescentes para el éxito de la Biblioteca Pública de Santa Bárbara y la comunidad de Santa Bárbara en general. El programa les brinda a los estudiantes de secundaria formas positivas de descubrir su voz, desarrollar habilidades de liderazgo y crear un cambio duradero dentro de su comunidad. Los adolescentes identificarán las necesidades de la comunidad, crearán proyectos para apoyar esas necesidades y ayudarán a dar forma a los servicios, programas y colecciones para adolescentes de la biblioteca. Las reuniones del Consejo Asesor de Adolescentes son dos veces al mes, de enero a junio de y una vez al mes en julio y agosto, y las reuniones de dos veces al mes se reanudarán de septiembre a diciembre. Los integrantes del Consejo Asesor de Adolescentes recibirán horas de servicio comunitario por asistir a las reuniones y los eventos de este. Y se ofrecerán oportunidades adicionales de voluntariado y actividades de formación de equipos semanalmente. Todos los nuevos aspirantes deben asistir a una orientación de servicios de la Biblioteca para adolescentes antes de formar parte del Consejo Asesor de Adolescentes. Envíale un correo electrónico a nuestra bibliotecaria de servicios para adolescentes si tienes alguna pregunta.
