 stressful. When families come together, tensions can easily rise. The fami
 ly dynamic is under the spotlight, which can be either a blessing or a cur
 se.It’s normal—and even expected—for families to have disagreements.
  Yet, many still chase the ideal of a conflict-free gathering, especially 
 during the holidays when we wish to embody the picture-perfect family. Wit
 h a mix of information, tools, and conversation we can all be better prepa
 red for the holidays.Certified Advanced Mediator and Trainer Elizabeth Esr
 ey teaches mediation and conflict resolution skills. While working for the
  Chicago Bar Association, she designed and implemented mediation programs 
 for the Chicago Public Schools and private businesses.  Esrey holds media
 tion certificates from Illinois, Missouri, California, and Kansas.Disclaim
