DESCRIPTION:SBPL invites English language learners to a special garden exp
 loration class. This program teaches planting while offering a way to help
  learners improve their English language skills in a fun and interactive w
 ay. Each session is designed for parents and caregivers and their children
  to participate and learn together. Bilingual staff will be available to a
 ssist Spanish-speakers with interpreting the instructions. Gain vocabulary
 , make new friends, and have fun in the garden! \r\nDue to the size of th
 e garden, sessions are limited to 10 grownups and their children. Best for
  ages 5 and up, but okay to bring younger siblings. Meet at the Eastside P
 ark entrance to the Yanonali Gardens.\r\nClick on a title to be taken to t
 he session registration page.\r\nMarch 9th: Get to Know Seeds\r\nLearn all
  about seeds! We’ll make our own Marigold seed packets and learn how to 
 plant seeds so they grow into flowers.\r\nApril 13th: Eat Your Leaves\r\nL
 earn all about leaves! We’ll explore how they grow and do a taste test o
 f different edible leaves and learn about the benefits of eating leafy gre
 ens.\r\nMay 18th: Get to Know Flowers and Pollinators\r\nLearn all about t
 he parts of a flower and how birds, bees, and butterflies pollinate flower
 s. We’ll dissect a flower and learn how they attract pollinators.\r\nThi
 s series is part of Sustainably SBPL, a series of events that promotes sus
 tainability climate resilience, and community engagement through garden ed
 ucation, repair and mending workshops, and food preservation classes, book
  discussions, lectures, and more. Sustainably SBPL is funded by a Library 
 Services and Technology Act grant, administered in California by the Calif
