Program Description

Details/Detalles

Create connections and serve your community by volunteering as an OG Readers tutor at the Santa Barbara Public Library!

Teens and adults are invited to become OG Readers Volunteer Tutors as part of our reading intervention program for kids! This 2-part training is based on the Orton-Gillingham approach to support students with phonics-based tools to demystify the process of reading.

Once training is complete, volunteers will work one-to-one with students in Grades 1-4.

Tutors are provided ongoing support through skills trainings, one-to-one sessions with the Literacy Services Librarian and staff, as well as skills workshops and appreciation events.
