New Tutor Training for Adult Literacy Volunteers

Create connections and serve your community by volunteering as an Adult Literacy tutor at the Santa Barbara Public Library!

Tutors are trained and then matched with an adult English Language Learner or adult English speaker to achieve literacy, educational, and work-related goals. Tutors meet with Learners once a week for a 60-minute session at the Library and have full access to the Literacy Center.

Tutors receive ongoing support through skills trainings, one-to-one sessions with Adult Literacy staff, access to curricula and materials, as well as volunteer get-togethers and appreciation events.
