About the exhibit:

On display during August is a collection of fabric collage and art quilts made of cotton batik and silk fabrics featuring birds and animals of the San Marcos Foothills.

About the artist:

Julia Laraway is a teacher by training, an artist at heart, and a librarian presently. She found her way to fabric collage and quilt-making years ago by listening to her mother. She is inspired by the flora and fauna of the world around her and the colors and lines of the land, the sea, and the sky. She is constantly grateful for the beauty of the world and her ability to take what she sees and make something interesting.
