Program Description

Details/Detalles

Join SBPL and The Crafter’s Library to learn techniques for bringing your unique personal style to life in a sustainable way. Learn to alter ready-to-wear or thrifted clothes, giving your hacked clothes a professional finish. We will be discussing the best methods for hemming jeans, dress pants, skirts, and shirts, as well as how to make simple fit changes to give your clothes a second life. Bring in a shirt, dress, jacket, or pair of pants so that we can discuss real examples and try some alterations. After the initial one-hour introduction to alterations, participants are invited to meet with instructors for one-on-one help with their alteration sewing projects.

This program is supported by a Library Services and Technology Act grant, administered in California by the California State Library.
