Program Description

Details/Detalles

We all have stories to tell. But what makes a story come alive? What turns a life event into something that has the potential to transform the listener, as well as the teller? In this workshop, participants will use a combination of writing, movement, improvisation, group process, and play to mold a personal story into a piece of visual, performance, or written art. Maybe your story is begging to be told, and you don’t know where to start–or maybe you want to gain concrete skills for sharing in front of an audience. Whoever you are, your story matters, and this workshop will help bring it to life.

This group is led by Jenna Tico, director and host of Backbone Storytelling, a local pop-up event centered around music and personal stories told live. As a multi-disciplinary artist and facilitator, Jenna has more than ten years’ experience guiding groups in using the arts as a tool for personal and community renewal.

No preparation or previous experience is required, please bring a notebook and a pen.
