Program Description

Details/Detalles

How do you write a story about your life? Where do you begin? And why might you want to tell such a story? Join SBPL and writer-facilitator JD Mathes for a powerful workshop on the possibilities of using art to make change. Don’t miss the chance to explore questions of craft—how to create character, setting, atmosphere, and a sense that something is about to happen—and questions of meaning—what do our stories reveal about us and why does the world need your voice? This workshop is tailored to individuals who are unhoused, individuals who were formerly incarcerated, and individuals for whom English is a second language, but people of all backgrounds are welcome. Registration is limited to 26 participants and is required.

This project was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
