Program Description

Details/Detalles

Join the Santa Barbara Public Library and local trail guide James Wapotich for an immersive and interpretive hike in Tequepis Canyon on the backside of the Santa Ynez Mountains. We will be exploring the plants and habitats found there, and seeing what the land has to show us through some immersive exercises. This program is part of our Parks Pass Grant programing, created with funding provided by the State of California, and administered by the California State Library.

Participants on this program will be navigating a 2 mile long hike with some uphill, uneven terrain, and creek crossings.

Due to the nature of this program, the group size will be capped at 16 participants, and we want to give everyone a chance to participate. Please register if you are committed to going. If your plans change, please cancel your registration so a spot may open for someone else. If you are put on the waitlist at registration, you will be sent details about a second Tequepis Trail hike you may participate in that will be coordinated by Trail Guide James Wapotich on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023.

Registered participants will be sent the details of where to meet and what to bring a couple days before the event. Please check your emails.

This program is part of our Parks Pass Grant programing, created with funding provided by the State of California, and administered by the California State Library.
