The Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness invites you to participate in a free, life saving QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training webinar designed to increase awareness about suicide, reduce stigma, and empower individuals to take action.
What is QPR?
QPR is a proven suicide prevention program that teaches participants how to recognize the signs of suicidal thoughts, engage in compassionate conversations, and connect individuals with the help they need.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to recognize the warning signs of suicide
- Common myths and facts about suicide
- Effective ways to ask about someone’s intentions with care and confidence
- How to offer hope and encourage seeking professional support
- Key resources for crisis intervention and suicide prevention
Who Should Attend?
Anyone can become a QPR Gatekeeper, a person trained to recognize and respond to someone in crisis. This includes parents, teachers, youth, faith leaders, first responders, healthcare providers, mental health professionals, and community members.
