Program Description

Details/Detalles

In A Long Petal of the Sea, Roser and Victor escape exile after the Spanish Civil War to build a new life in Chile on a ship chartered by Pablo Neruda. Join SBPL for a discussion of the book All Hands on Deck: A Modern Day High Seas Adventure to the Far Side of the World by Will Sofrin to learn a bit about what their journey would have been like. This title was selected to complement the novel A Long Petal of the Sea. Books are available in advance by registering through this event or attending the author's presentation on November 6.

Santa Barbara Reads is funded through the annual support of the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation. To learn more about the foundation and how to support SB Reads 2023, visit their website.
