Program Description

Details/Detalles

Create connections and serve your community by volunteering as an OG Readers Tutor at Santa Barbara Public Library!

Teens and adults are invited to become OG Readers Volunteer Tutors as part of our reading intervention program for kids! This 3-part training is based on the Orton-Gillingham approach to support students with phonics-based tools to demystify the process of reading.

Once training is complete, volunteers will work one-to-one with students in grades 1-4.

Tutors are provided ongoing support through skills training, one-to-one sessions with the Literacy Services Librarian and staff, skills workshops, and appreciation events.

Please review the FAQs before registering.

Parking is available at City lots near the library. The first 75 minutes are free.
