Program Description

Details/Detalles

Create connections and serve your community by volunteering as an Adult Literacy Tutor at Santa Barbara Public Library!

Tutors are trained and then matched with an adult English Language Learner or adult English speaker to achieve literacy, educational, and work-related goals. Tutors meet with Learners once a week for a 60-minute session at the Library and have full access to the Literacy Center.

Tutors are provided ongoing support through skills trainings, one-to-one sessions with the Literacy Services Librarian and staff, as well as skills workshops and appreciation events.

Please review the Frequently Asked Questions for Tutors to see if this opportunity is right for you.

Attendance is required for both sessions: Saturday, January 31 and Saturday, February 7.

Parking is available at City lots near the library. The first 75 minutes are free.
