Program Description

Learn about gardening and get your hands dirty with Explore Ecology at the Franklin Elementary Garden! Garden Educators will lead a lesson, followed by time spent completing helpful gardening tasks such as: weeding, watering, mulching, harvesting, and planting. Come prepared to bend, squat, lift, and move your body. Closed-toe shoes are required, and clothes you are willing to get dirty are recommended. Training and tools will be provided. Families, children, and teens are welcome. Best for ages 10 and up.

Lunch at the Library is a project of the California State Library, supported with funds from the State of California.

Participants in this event may be photographed by Library staff. These photos may be used in promotional or educational publications, including in print, social media, and presentations. Please see staff if you do not consent to having your photo taken. Staff will obtain individual, signed photo releases of photographs that contain only an individual as opposed to a group.

In case of inclement weather, outdoor activities may be canceled. For the most up to date information, please contact the library with any questions or concerns before traveling to library events.
