Cooking Class: Local Kids, Local Chefs

Join us for a free cooking class for kids with a local chef on the Central Library Plaza! All supplies and ingredients to make healthy and delicious creations will be provided. Space is limited, and participation is first come, first serve for children ages 8 to 14.

Chef Dalan Moreno will teach this class. He’s been the owner and chef at Rascal’s Vegan Food since early 2023, and he’s been making creative vegan food for much longer. His restaurant is for everyone, kids who are looking for a great vegan spot or people just wanting to try something new. He wants to give back to Santa Barbara, the community that raised him.

Registration begins at the service desk 30 minutes before the program begins. Children must be present 5 minutes before class starts to participate.

This program is funded in part by Lunch at the Library funds, a project of the California State Library, supported with funds from the State of California.
